On the Road: DC — LCV Capitol Dinner & Women's National Democratic Club Luncheon

Chair Deatrick traveled to Washington, DC for a productive day of climate and democracy organizing. At a luncheon hosted by the Women's National Democratic Club, speakers from the Brennan Center, the 1.5 Climate Strategy Group, and the WNDC explored the deeply connected fights for democracy and climate — a conversation that resonated powerfully in the current political moment.

In the evening, Chair Deatrick joined the environmental community's leading voices at the League of Conservation Voters' annual Capitol Dinner Gala, one of the most important gatherings of climate champions in the country. Among the many friends and allies she was delighted to connect with was DNC Chair Ken Martin — a longtime friend of the Council and a committed climate champion — a reminder of the strong ties between Democratic Party leadership and the environmental movement.
