Florida Webinar: Affordability, Resilience & Winning Elections

Virtual | Thursday, June 11 | 7pm ET

Chair Deatrick joins the Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida (DECF) for the Affordability and Environmental Resilience in Florida Webinar, a working conversation for Florida Democrats on how to campaign and win on the cost-of-living environmental and energy driven issues hitting Floridians hardest: utility bills, home insurance, and rising costs from stronger storms and a hotter climate.

Florida is a battleground in 2026, and affordability and climate are winning issues. The webinar will dig into the messaging, the policy, and the organizing that Florida Democrats can take into their communities, county parties, and campaigns this cycle.

Chair Deatrick will be joined by a powerhouse lineup:

• Dr. Alicia Johnson, Georgia Public Service Commissioner and a leading voice for lowering utility rates

• Dr. Therese Wakefield-Gamble, advocate for low-income communities bearing the brunt of the climate crisis

Council Listening & Organizing Tour: Wisconsin

Madison, Wisconsin | June 13 - 14

The DNC Environment & Climate Crisis Council is pleased to announce that Council Chair Michelle Deatrick will be attending and speaking at the 2026 Wisconsin Democratic Party State Convention in Madison, Wisconsin on June 13–14.

Chair Deatrick will address the Wisconsin Democratic Party's Environmental Caucus on June 13th at 1:30pm, bringing the Council's national voice on climate policy to one of the most important Democratic gatherings in a key battleground state. 

Deatrick will also co-moderate Politics of Place: How Climate Candidates Win on Water, Energy & Conservation in Wisconsin. With co-moderator Rebecca Powell and speakers Jeff Meessmann, Susan Trier and Seth Taft to examine the emerging political landscape surrounding water, wilderness, parks, energy infrastructure, and responsible growth in Wisconsin. Council Listening & Organizing Tour: Texas

Corpus Christi, Texas | June 25-27

The Chair will be attending and speaking at the Environmental Caucus Meeting at the Texas Democratic Party Convention in Corpus Christi in June. More than 5,000 Democrats from across Texas will gather for three days of organizing and planning for the midterms. Convention information here.

Council Summer Meeting: At DNC Summer Convention

 Austin, Texas | August 13-16 | Date and Time of Meeting TBD

Join us for the Council’s in-person Meeting, an official event of the DNC’s Summer convening!  We have another exciting, packed and interactive meeting planned, and you are welcome. 

Panels and speakers will address Texas’ climate and environmental justice challenges, and climate as a winning issue. Members of the environmental community and all Democrats are warmly welcomed to join us. You are also welcome to attend other events held by the DNC in New Orleans, including other caucus and council meetings.
