Share Your Story: How Are Trump’s Policies Hurting You?
As Trump rolls back environmental protections and fires workers at the EPA, USDA and NOAA, Americans are being harmed. Sharing your story is one of the most powerful ways we have of showing that environment, climate and health are important to Americans – and that Trump is harming them (and us) all. We want to hear, share and amplify: Together, let’s make it clear who is responsible and the tremendous harms being done.
Have your energy prices increased? Lost a green energy job – or a federal environmental, health or agriculture job? Has your nonprofit or family business lost funding for solar or weatherizing? Is your air dirtier, your community not receiving needed disaster assistance? The DNC Climate Council wants to hear your story. And, with your permission, to share it and amplify it. We can do this anonymously if needed.
As of March 6, 2025, at least 100,000 federal workers have had their roles eliminated nationally, or have been placed on probation or on leave. Federal workers make up 1.87% of the national workforce comprising just over 3 million people. And meanwhile, cuts to remaining federal workers’ pay and benefits are being proposed, at a time when prices for everything from eggs to energy are going up and up.
Write to your Congresspeople, telling them to support the federal workers who dedicate their expertise, effort, and energy to serve our country.
Corporate polluters receive $15 billion+ in direct federal subsidies from the US government each year. Our taxpayer dollars are supporting the climate crisis which is destroying homes, the insurance market and our health – and allowing fossil fuel billionaires to get richer. This must end.
Please write to your Congresspeople, telling them to end the billions of dollars of corporate welfare to the fossil fuel industry.
