Meeting with Ann Arbor, Michigan Democratic Club

Council Chair Deatrick, who also serves as the Chair of the Environmental Council for Washtenaw County, where Ann Arbor is located,  spoke on a panel addressing data centers.

The panel was a briefing for area Democrats regarding the purpose and community impacts of data centers. Deatrick spoke of the national context for data centers and shared what she has learned from her 14-state National Listening Tour about water, air and noise pollution concerns, AI job loss for youth, and the impact of lost state-level taxes on public services. She spoke alongside Washtenaw County Commissioner Yousef Rabhi and University of Michigan SEAS Tishman Center Inaugural Director Michelle Martinez.
