DNC Climate Council Endorses the Children’s Fundamental Rights to Life and a Stable Climate System; Chair Deatrick in DC to Support at Rally and Press Conference
The DNC Climate Council endorsed a Congressional Resolution, Children’s Fundamental Rights to Life and a Stable Climate System, and our Chair attended a Rally and Press Conference in DC in support. Organized by Council ally Our Children’s Trust, this event listed up the voices of the Lighthiser v. Trump youth plaintiffs and supported the new resolution protecting children’s rights to a livable climate. The resolution recognizes children’s rights and the urgent need to oppose Trump’s anti-clean energy and anti-climate science directives. Nearly 50 members of the High School Democrats of America attended, as well as the Florida Dems Environmental Caucus President Judy Freiberg and DNC Climate Council Chair Michelle Deatrick.
