VP Harris Joins Council to Support Georgia and Arizona PUC Candidates

Virtual | October 27

The DNC Council on the Environment and Climate Crisis hosted a virtual fundraiser, co-hosted with Lead Locally PAC, to support Democratic candidates for public utility commissions in Georgia and Arizona. Vice President Kamala Harris keynoted the event, and the Council is deeply grateful to her for lending her voice to these races.

Public utility commissions decide what energy gets built, who pays for it, and whether communities have a real voice in that process. In Georgia, Peter Hubbard is defending the Public Service Commission seat Democrats flipped in a 2025 special election, and Shelia Edwards ran to flip a second seat and secure a Democratic majority. In Arizona, Clara Pratte and Dr. Jonathon Hill both ran to flip Republican-held seats on the Corporation Commission, building toward a majority in 2028 and are currently in the lead as votes are counted.
