Wisconsin | October 23-24
Council Chair Michelle Deatrick was on the ground in Wisconsin, canvassing and campaigning for Democrats up and down the ballot ahead of Election Day.
On the 23rd, Michelle joined a canvass launch alongside Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, Wisconsin CD-01 candidate Mitchell Berman, and Senator Raphael Warnock. That evening, she spoke at a Wisconsin Democrats AAPI candidate event in support of candidates including Yee Leng Xiong, the Democratic nominee for Wisconsin State Treasurer — who won, and will be the first Hmong American ever elected to statewide office in Wisconsin.
Climate Canvass at the Kenosha Dems Office. Organized by WisDems Environmental Caucus and Chair Vik Verma.
On the 24th, Michelle kicked off a GOTV canvass for Berman, Trevor Jung (21st Senate District) and Ben Brist (61st Assembly District) in Greendale, followed by a big GOTV Climate Canvass kickoff in Kenosha for Berman, the Democratic nominee for Wisconsin’s 1st, joined by Adam Duda among others.
None of this would have been possible without Vik Verma, Chair of the WisDems Environmental Caucus, and Rebecca Powell and Craig Sadur, who organized Michelle’s schedule and put together terrific outreach and GOTV events.
