Chair Deatrick Joins Shawano/ Menominee County (WI) Democrats for Listening Session

With the Shawana/Menominee County Democrats (SMCDP), Deatrick shared the work of the DNC Climate Council and engaged in a conversation about members’ concerns regarding climate, the environment, agriculture and democracy. Residents discussed voter alienation, industrial agriculture, and Trump’s agenda to destroy forests and ignore Tribal Nations’ Treaty Rights. Deatrick said, “As Democrats, we are committed to preserving at least 30% of our lands and waters by 2030 — which is crucial to fighting the climate crisis and its impacts. Wisconsin is home to vast tribal lands, valuable waterways and wilderness — and is on the Climate Frontlines.This Administration is not just trying to erase the progress of the last four years, they are looking to undo all the progress of the last four decades.”
