Summer Meeting: Council Leadership Elections & “Environmental Messaging in Rural Areas” Panel

The DNC Climate Council met in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the convening of the full DNC, where the Council voted unanimously to re-elect Michelle Regalado Deatrick as Chair and Paul Presendieu as Youth Engagement Director, and to elect DNC Member Howard Chou as Vice Chair.

Speakers included Indigenous Peoples Task Force Director Sharon Day, Sierra Club North Star Legislative Director Peter Wagenius, MN State Representative Athena Hollins, and Minnesota DFL Environmental Caucus Chair Mathew Doll. The Environmental Messaging in Rural Communities Panel was an important discussion with MN State Senator Mary Kunesh, MN State Representative Kristi Pursell, DNC Climate Council Native Engagement Director & former ND State Representative Ruth Anna Buffalo. Gratitude to outgoing Vice Chair David Green for acting as Election Officer.
